GLAS Animation Festival, unquestionably the finest animation festival currently running in the United States, has opened submissions for its fourth edition, set to take place March 21-24 in Berkeley, California.

The festival is accepting entries through November 30, 2018 for all kinds of projects including narrative, non-narrative, undergraduate, graduate, commissioned, feature films, and installations.

Films made January 2017 and after are eligible to submit. Impressively, there is no submission fee for entering if you do it before the deadline. No-fee festivals are standard in other parts of the world, but here in the States, it’s quite rare to have a high-caliber film festival that is free to enter, so be sure to take advantage of the opportunity.

Key GLAS festival award categories in 2019 include:

  • Grand Prix
  • New Talent
  • High Risk
  • Audience Award
  • plus other special prizes
