Biography


1991-present President, STRETCH FILMS, Inc. Animation Studio founded by John R. Dilworth, producing and directing award-winning films that have been screened at film festivals and theaters worldwide, and have been included in film programs at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Brooklyn Museum, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Guggenheim Museum, the Museum of the Moving Image, and the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art.  1988-1991 Freelance Animator/Director Design and Animation services for a variety of clients, including 1985 Oscar-nominated MICHAEL SPORN ANIMATION and JUMBO PICTURES’ “DOUG” series for NICKELODEON.  1985-1988 Art Director – Baldi, Bloom & Whelan Advertising Advertisement Design/Illustration for Print and TV  Contributing Cartoonist to The Visual Arts Newspaper Producer/Director of Radio Drama/Comedy for WSVA Radio Contributing writer to The Visual Arts Journal

Family and early life


Born in Queens. Sold his first canvas, a Kabuki drawing, to his high school Spanish teacher for $20. Three sisters, one brother, and a niece.

Nominated for an Academy Award for best Animated Short, 1996 for “The Chicken from Outer Space”
