The author concentrates only on animated feature films produced under the supervision of Walt Disney himself. The author does not use secondary sources but bases his work on archival research, and interviews with people who worked closely with Disney himself. The book includes a lot of black and white, and color illustrations that come from public collections and private archives from both the United States and Europe.
