Synopsis

Soul is a story about Joes, a middle-school band teacher, who finds the true meaning of life after encountering journey in another realm. The clip above shows Joe finally fulfilling his dream of playing jazz by performing with Dorothea, the saxphonist.

Reception:

Soul is the first Pixar animation featuring an African-American protagonist.
The animation was first premiered in London Film Festival in October, 2020. Due to the Pandemic, Soul‘s theatrical release was cancelled and was replaced by a direct-to-streaming on Disney+ on December 25, 2020. The film is going to theatre on January 12th, 2024.
Soul has won a total of 125 wins and 93 nominations. The accolades include but are not limited to:
