To celebrate International Workers’ Day this month, check out The Cartoon Factory! This film celebrates the labour of animation by featuring an animator, Ko-Ko, being replaced by a drawing machine created to take over his job. It is worth mentioning that, ironically, the film’s producer Max Fleischer is known for being anti-union with his staff forming one of the first cartoonists’ strikes in 1937.
