Synopsis
Britain’s Effort is a silent animated propaganda film created by Lancelot Speed’s Films in 1918. The film depicts the efforts of Britian and its colonies in the war against the Central Powers. The film opens with a caricature of Kaiser Willhelm of Germany sharpening a blade with which he will carve up the world. He is joined by Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria and they gleefully stockpile weapons. The film then takes us to different places around the globe showing how each country in the British Empire is contributing to the defeat of the Kaiser and his army.
