Amanda Strong is an Indigenous artist and filmmaker whose work features stop-motion animation. She is from Mississauga, Ontario and has lived in Toronto and Montreal. She is currently based in unceded Coast Salish territory, also known as Vancouver. Strong is the director and owner of Spotted Fawn Productions, an Indigenous-led animation studio that focuses on illustration, stop motion, 2D, 3D, and virtual reality. Her work has been screened at Toronto International Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, Vancouver International Film Festival, and Ottawa International Animation Festival.
Family and early life
Strong grew up in Mississauga, Ontario. She is of Cree, Anishinaabe, Assiniboine, and mixed European ancestry.
