Biography


Jin Fuzai (金复载) is a Chinese composer known for creating numerous soundtracks for works by Shanghai Animation Film Studio. 

After graduating from Shanghai Conservatory of Music in 1961, Jin enrolled in the Shanghai Animation Film Studio as the main composer, responsible for the soundtracks of many cartoons including Nezha Conquers the Dragon Kings (哪吒闹海)(1979), Three Monks (三个和尚)(1980), The Snow Child (雪孩子)(1980), Monkey King Conquers the Demon (金猴降妖)(1985), Feeling from Mountain and Water (山水情)(1988), Shuke and Beita (舒克和贝塔)(1989), and Lotus Lantern (宝莲灯)(1999) (“金复载”). 

In 1992, Jin visited the United States as an exchange student. Amazed by the renown Broadway musical Cats, Jin returned to China to found the first department of Performing Arts of the country at Shanghai Conservatory of Music, his alma mater, and the first Chinese musical, Sunrise (日出)(2002) (陈). In that same year, 2002, Jin retired from Shanghai Animation Film Studio and assumed the position of Director of the Musical Department of Shanghai Conservatory Music till present (“金复载”).
